About Seventh-day Adventists

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.

          Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Loren Yutuc was born and raised in the Northern California Bay Area.  His father, Lordinio Yutuc, a retired dentist, taught Loren about the love of God and the Adventist faith. This example helped shape Loren’s love for Christ and the gospel resulting in giving his life to Jesus at the early age of eleven. Loren spent his summers working for the Leoni Meadows Summer Camp from 1998 to 2003 as a counselor, archery instructor, assistant programming director, and camp pastor.

In 1999, Loren attended Pacific Union College with the desire to major in Computer Science. He didn’t find this path very fulfilling and being led by the Spirit through prayer, Loren was convicted to pursue a closer walk with God and switched his major to Theology. In 2001 Loren took a year off from college to become a taskforce worker for the Youth Department with the Northern California Conference. He graduated from Pacific Union College in 2004 and moved to Las Vegas, NV where he started working as the Youth Pastor for the Las Vegas Fil-am Christian Fellowship. He also served as a Youth Advisor under Pastor David S. Hall in the Las Vegas Area leading youth rallies, training small group leaders, and as a Pathfinder Area Coordinator for the Las Vegas Valley.

During his time in Las Vegas, he met his beautiful wife Claudia while she served as a Pathfinder Club Director for one of the local Hispanic churches. A few months after their wedding in 2018, Pastor Loren received a call from the Nevada-Utah Conference to pursue his Master of Divinity degree at the Theological Seminary at Andrews University.  In May 2022 Loren graduated and accepted an assignment serving as Pastor for the Elko, Winnemucca, and Ely churches.

No matter where the road may lead or how long it may take, Loren continues to pursue his first love and trusts the Lord will lead him.  He believes he and his family will lack nothing as his Shepherd goes before him.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” – Psalm 23:1 (NKJV)
